GC by adopting an adult ?

Is it possible to get GC by adopting an Adult who is a US citizen -- who then sponsors his new parents for GC ? Such as, a married couple who are foreigners at age 45, who adopt a 22-year old US citizen.

Note that it is Legal (generally) to adopt an Adult in the USA, and that this is done for various legal purposes (inheritance, care, etc.).

Adopted child is defined in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) in section 101(1)(1)(E), (F), or (G). Look it up at www.uscis.gov on laws tab.
