Hello All,
I wanted someone to explain better on a best case scenario option for my future wife, I wanted her to get a visa to Canada from Africa and then can i file for her in Canada right after we get married in Canada while she stays there in Canada. Can someone please elaborate further on this matter, thanks

We used to have people on the forum that responds to query questions. It seems that most of them are US Citizens now and they don't come to the Asylee forum anymore...

This is primarily a U.S. forum, however, there is a section for Canada questions, but this is not it. If you post your question there, perhaps someone with an interest in Canada immigration will have the information you seek. As I understand it, spousal immigration is easier in Canada than the U.S.

Good Luck,

Shefe, more info will certainly get you more answers, are you an asylee or what is your current status? do you want your wife to stay in canada or in US? how long are you willing to let her stay in canada while processing her application?

Got my GC from Asylum.. I want her to go to Canada while i go over there and i meet her to marry her then i want her to stay there until they approve her to come to USA

OK so now it is more clear, your goal is to get your wife to USA while Canada will be a temp stop. BigJoe5 thought it is a Canada immigration post "I don't blame him" + you were complaining of no answer. A clear post will get you more specific and correct replies.

After marriage, fill and send I-130 Petition for Alien Relative, immigration visa for her should be ready in 3 -4 years http://travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_5212.html "I don't know if she can stay 3 years in Canada because you didn't answer my question" also what type of canadian visa will she apply?

If she is going to stay for that long in Canada, then answer question 22 in I-130 providing the nearest US consular.

I hope this cleared the picture for you, I know 3-4 years waiting period is frustrating but things can change, it went down to 6 months or less in 4th quarter of 2010 http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_5197.html http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_1770.html also you might find more info in the forum: Family Based Green Cards - Through Marriage or a Relative here is the link http://forums.immigration.com/forum...ed-Green-Cards-Through-Marriage-or-a-Relative

Raziel,
She would be applying for a visitor visa. I know about this 3 to 5 years backlog issue so that is why i wanted to move on a different option since she got denied visiting visa to the USA.

Well, you have to be able to prove the marriage is valid since you will be staying in the states most of time and she has to live in canada...
