Fulltime Study on H4

Hi all,

I have few questions on H4.

1. My wife is in India and got admits in an University and has been awarded tution waiver.
2. Can my wife come on H4 and go to school on a fulltime basis ?
3. Can she accept tution waivers on H4 ?
4. When she goes to get her H4 from the consultate, India, does she need to disclose her study plan ?

Check with her university. They will give you authoritative answers. Rules vary from state to state and university to university.

For 4, I will say - NEVER.

2. She can, but cannot enjoy tuition waiver/scholarship

And also she cant take up part time jobs, if she is on H4.

First try F1 as this will help your wife get financial benifit as mentioned by other user...but getting F1 is difficult as she has to prove that she has no immigration intent i,e, she will go back to india after staudy , needs showing about your property,bank balance etc......and you are in H1B....does it make it a problem?
