Friend got married to USC in back home.

Today he told me that there are two ways he can come to USA which I was not sure, and told him that I will check and get back to him.

He said his wife will file I-130 and once that approved he can apply for visit visa or K3 and come to USA and then apply for AOS.

the 2nd option he told me was to once 130 approved choose the consular processing and wait in the home country until the GC approved.

I thought only the 2nd option is valid, I am not sure that he do have the first option, but need to confirm here from someone.

What is the fast/correct way to approach for him?

With an I-130 in the system, getting a b-2 visa will be really tough. A K-3 visa is a viable option however.

Thanks for your quick reply.

How much time he will be saving as far as GC concern.
i.e. if the 130 approved in the next 3 months.

if he choose K3 how long to get GC
and if he choose CR1 then how much time in ISB consulate?

thanks once again.

Anywhere from 8 to 12 months for either route.

For straight forward cases, an attorney is not needed.

is attorney necessary to file 130 or later CR1?

or someone can do itself.
