FP done today at Alexandria, VA: took 5 mts

Unbelievably efficient! It took about 5 mts for the whole process from the time I entered. There was hardly anyone. However, the drive back took 2.5 hours. Geez.

How long does it typically take to get the IL letter and the appointment?

At what time did you go ? I need to go on the 20th.

In my FP notice it says 8 AM appointment. Is this a standard/default time for everyone ?

Our appointment was @ 9 am, and we were there a few minutes earlier. In retrospect, we could have gotten there much earlier and been over and done with, I would imagine.

Ok. Thanks for the clarification of appt time. I thought by default everyone has the same 8AM as appt time. I may also have to spend couple of hours in the return trip :-(
 
vatiger2009, When you go to Alexandria office on 20th, can you please check if they have a local phone number at the office. Lot of people in this forum have had issues with this center after their fingerprinting, they just seem to be lost!!

Just did FP about an hour ago - in and out in 10 minutes. The security person at the front desk refused to provide a local center number and said to call the BCIS 800 number for any issues.

The individuals inside are all contractors and are not able to tell you much anyway.

However, make sure you visit this thread if you did your FP in Alexandria between 10/26/09 and 11/04/09 .

I'm saying one should expect IL within 2-3 months after FP. If you got it earlier, that's fine, but not the norm. The point is people will think they should get IL based on your case and worry if they don't, instead of looking at the big picture where on average it's taking 2-3 months.
