FP and Approval

Is it true that who ever is getting FP done is/will get approved in next 2-3 months?

I can see lot aug-sep 2003 filers getting Fp after i-140 approved, I am also one of them, I could see few of them geting approved in no time like 2,3 weeks, even my attorny said that once u r done with FP it will not take more then 5 weeks because VSC is very fast on 2003 cases, but

what is the truth? is there any one who can agree/disagrre with this thought of mine and my attorny?

I don't think you can count on approval in 2-3 months but there are definitely many people who got their 2nd FP done who were approved shortly thereafter. Even some people who did their 1st FP have been approved within a couple months.

There are still many, many people throughout 2003 who aren't approved yet. Look at the 2003 I-485 tracker for example (http://boards.immigration.com/showthread.php?p=943706#post943706). I'm pretty sure that many people have had their FP done for a long time now (e.g. May/June 2003 filers) and haven't been approved yet.

I've been assuming that with my own ND (10/23/03, FP done 09/10/04) I could *maybe* be approved any day now but that it could still take 12+ months. The most encouraging news that I came across recently was from the post (http://boards.immigration.com/showthread.php?t=147404) where it was mentioned that there is a separate location for processing April - October 2003 cases and that they want to clear these by March 2005 (5 months from now). As I said in that thread, I still suspect that cases which are considered to be "easy" will be approved sooner than other cases.

And I don't see them approving people regardless of whether their FP is done if there are issues with the name check.

Hi Chubber :

You are right 50%. The remaining 50% is Name check. I think most crucial thing is Name check for the early 485 approval. If all the applicants in one family are cleared for the name check from FBI, then that case has 99% chance for the approval. I think all the early approvals are because their name check was cleared by that time. Many 2003 cases are stuck with the Name check. I think you should estimate or calculate time after Both FP,Name check cleared. You can't calculate on only FP.

I don't know, if I am wrong.

SO when they do name check? who does it andd is there any way to find out if name check is being done or if it is cleared?

FBI[Name check Department]

E-mail them with all your details : Full Name, DOB, A#, SSN, Present Address, Phone no, FAX no, E-mail address ...

to : FBINNCP@ic.fbi.gov

oh, so just for my u nderstanding, is this a process which is does not depend on FP?

in your case, you got your FP done in Sep 2004 but your name check is pending since March 2004.

\SO if I email them my details, will them tell me if

1. My name check is cleared?
2. If they are pending?
3. If they have a request for this??

please do respond.

Best to just search this forum for "name check" -- these questions have been answered previously.
