I joined my current company on H1 and got GC and still continuing with them. When i joined them, i filled form I-9. Do i have to fill out another form I-9 to reflect my GC?

My 485 has been approved some few months back. I have not yet bothered to fill out a new I-9

It's employer's duty. Your employer is careless.

I guess too much cost cutting is leading to Admin person doing too many things. that they dont have time to do it.

What's I-9? Is this necessary even if I plan to leave the sponsoring company in about 3 months?

It's employment eligibility verification. It's basically the company ensuring you can legally work in the US. It's the company's responsibility to ensure that it is up to date, although few companies are truly in compliance.

Do yourself and your employer a favor - just go down to HR with your GC and SSN, fill out a new one and you're done in 5 minutes.

The I-9 form must be filed for every employee, US citizens included. If your company didn't do it for you they probably didn't do it for anyone. By educating them you can help them to comply with the law.

My company does & knows it. I did it when i joined them on H1. Since they also know about my approval, they might be not too keen to make a top priority

You do not need to show your employer your PR card. Just show them your driver’s license along with you SS card. The latter must have the work restriction disclaimer removed (which you can do by going to any Social Security office and showing them your PR card or your passport stamp).
