Form I-89

I-89 is a form to request a lost permanent resident card(I-551)...Every document issued by the USCIS is given a form number...so your green card is I-551...

I-89 Form

I Received A Litter From Nebraska Service Center Says That My Form I-89 , Which Completes My Action For The Permanent Resident Card, has Been Received....due To The Pending Caseload At The Nebrasca Service Center, We Are Currently Backlogged On Reviewing And Scanning The Form I-89 And Do Not Have An Estimated Time Of Resolution. Please Allow Additional Time An Officer To Review Your Form Prior To Card Production. Also Understand That Your Lawful Permant Resident ( Lpr) Status Is Not Affected By The Lack Of The Card Being Issued. The Card Merely Provides Evidence Of Your Status. It Dose Not Grant The Status........so What They Mean By That? Form I-89....i Just Had Interview For The Green Card Based On Asylum Case Back On 12/09/2004 At The Locale Office In Las Vegas But I Dident Get The Answer For The Approvel Yet Since Then ? I Dident Recevied The Welcome Litter And Stamp I-94 Yet ?........

I-89 Form

My Case Was Asylum , I Went On Interview For Green Card Back On 12/09/2004, I Was Waitting For The Final Answer ( The Approvel Letter ) Since Then....finally I Got The Answer Back After 3 Months From The Date Of Interview...

So you went for the GC stamping and they did not issue you a proof of your residency?? The GC usually arrives in about 8-10 months.
In the mean time you can use that I-94 card with your photo and stamp of residency as a proof of your status.

I Went On Interview For Green Card Based On Asyulm Back On 12/09/2004 After The Interviw The Officer Told Me She Going To Send My Case Back To Nebrasca To Ask Them For Visa Number, since Then (the Date Of The Interview) I Dident Hear Anything From Them ,so I Called Cis Office After Two Months To Check On My Statues ,they Told Me We Were Going To Send Nebraska A Letter To Find Out What Happend With Your Case ,after Two Weeks Nebraska Send Me A Letter Says My Green Card (the Plastic)is On Process But No Estimated Timeof Resolution,,, But The Problem Is I Dident Received My Welcome Letter And The Approvel I-94 Stamp Yet...but The Cis Office Told Me Dont Worry About It They Can Issue You A Card Without Welcome Letter And I-94 Stamp Approvel.

Why didn't you ask the interview officer to give you some temporary proof of status such as stamped I-94??
I guess all you can do is wait and call them every month. It usually takes 8-9 months for plastic card to arrive.

I-89 Form

i wasent know anything about whats going to happend on the date of interview, cuz you cant say anything to immigration officers, they got the power and control of your case, they the one can tell you what were going to do with you case, and i know 1-485 asylee dont need to have an interview but my bad luck it happend, thats life you got to accept the bad and the good at the sametime.

I-89 Form

the cis office told me its going to take about two months( 60 days) to receive the plastic card(green card)since they received your i-89 form nebracka.

Ok - just to clarify things... the I-89 is the small form that Immigration Officers use to capture an applicant's index finger print for the GreenCard. This form is filled out when you hand over the approval notice or are approved at the local district office.

So, what Nebraska was telling you is that they have recieved your I-89 card and that they have a backlogg reviewing them and ordering GreenCards.

I suggest you take that letter and your approval letter to your local district office and get a temperary GreenCard. Once you have your temp. card, you should send Nebraska a request for update every 2 months or so until your plastic card arrives.

Good luck! I am sure you will hear some positive news real soon.

Get an INFOPASS appointment and go to your INS office.

Getting an info pass at this time will not help Sidman. His file has been transfered back to Nebraska - so he must inquiry with them.

I thought that he was looking for temporary proof of his green card while they are processing the plastic card. He could go to any district office and ask for an I-94 card stamp.

thats what i did last week ago ,i booked an appointment date and thats going to be on the march 29,2005.

I Took That Letter I Recevied From Nebraska And I Went To My Local Office In Las Vegas To Ask Them For The Temproy Card (stamped I-94) Cuz They Forgot To Give It To Me On That Date Of Interview(12/09/2005), So I Handled That Letter To My Immigration Officer In Front Of Window , He Took It And Looked At It , I Told Him About That Tempory Card (stamped I-94) Then He Asked Me For Valid Passport But I Told Him I Dont Have Any ,after That He Asked Me For A Photo And I Gave It To Him, He Isued Me A Temproy Card With Stamp And Photo On It And Asked Me To Go To Another Room To Have My Finger Print On It Too And He Did , Then He Handled It To Me And I Got It After That I Thanked Him And I Finished ,he Was Very Helpful And Nice,.........and Thanks God. :) :) :) Thank You All Of You For A Big Advice And Good Luck To You ,hopefuly You Will Get It Very Soon . :) :) :) :)

Excellent Sidman -

I am glad that you were proactive and did what you did. Please follow-up with Nebraska as well so they initiate the printing of your greencard.
