Forgot to declare travel in Canada on N-400 application

Hey everyone!

I have an interview coming up in a couple of months for my US citizenship. However, on my N-400 application, I totally forgot to declare that I traveled to Canada for 5 days (it does not affect the 6 mos rule out of the US). I was wondering whether or not I should let the officer know during my interview or just let it go?

I'm scared it might affect my application for citizenship. It was a truly honest mistake.

Thanks in advance!

Let the interviewing officer know first thing the day of interview. Do not just let it go, honest mistakes occasionally happen. They will go over the n400 form contents with you, and not disclosing this trip is akin to misrepresentation (lying).

Letting the officer know is the right and required thing to do. “Letting it go” moves from “totally forgot to declare” to intentionally misrepresentation/failure to disclose.
