FOIPA request online?

If you don't file by mail and have not notarized your signature FBI will not proceed on your case. Why do you want to try shortcuts when the form clearly asks the signature to be notarized? Read the form and follow the instructions to the letter. Don't look for shortcuts that may have worked in the past because you are increasing chances of delays, particularly if now the FBI is following the instructions to the letter. In fact a long time ago, FBI used to act on faxed FOIPA. Lately they have not acted on some. I sent mine by certified mail and got a response in less than a month.

but the form is not usable online. I have seen people filing FOIPA before. How did you file?

Mine was not notarized. I got a response anyway.

The signature doesn't have to be notarized, it just has to be a REAL signature (as opposed to a faxed one). I originally sent in my request by fax, not knowing that the signature has to be real, and it was returned to me, along with a statement that they are no longer accepting faxed requests.
