First Overseas Trip After GC

DV2007-SA

All who can help,

I received my GC thru DV-2007 already. I have been in the US under two visas (H-4 and then changed status to F-1). I'm traveling overseas next week. Questions:

1) Do I need to turn in my old I-94's from my H-4 and F-1 Visas?

2)If yes, which one should I give back, the first one when entered the US (H-4) or the newest received (F-1)?

Thanks for your help!

Thank you Lucy Mo...but for my own knowledge and understanding, why should I not turn in my I-94 in? I'm guessing that when I come back from my trip there will be no record of me leaving the US a few weeks before since I didn't turned in my I-94....might this be right/wrong? Do you see a complication by turning them in or not?

I know all of us are not lawyers, but past experiences are better than any advise from a lawyer...please confirm...thanks for your help...

Usually when you visit a country, their immigration post usually stamps a record of your entry and departure in your passport. This should suffice when you come back into the US.

I-94 records arrivals and departures for non-residents. You are a resident now, so it's a moot point to record your departure using the system for non-residents. Keep them.

Your departure will be recorded via a flight manifest. If I were you, I'd keep all your tickets and boarding passes for future reference (for citizenship application).

My wife is the primary winner and we are beneficiaries.

We completed our interview on 2-Jul and our fingerprints were taken. They said that passports will reach us within 7 days. Does this mean we are through ?

My company is India based and wants to send me on a short term assignment. Assuming that I get the GC (Do you know what exactly is stamped in the passport) - can I travel alone to USA from India now or my wife should accompany me? I was thinking of going there this trip and going with family for staying there after 3 months. Please advise.
