Went for the interview yesterday. Passed citizenship. But they asked me to bring "Letters of Police clearance from the different (4) city police departments certifying that xxx has no criminal record." This happened because they said they couldn't read my finger prints 2 times.

Can I get pay $19 and get this from a web site?

How easy is this to get from out of state PDs?

Thanks.

You can pay the $19 and get it from a website, but it doesn't mean it will be accepted by the USCIS. Instead, contact your local and state police department and ask them how to request it from them directly.

I had to obtain these police statements last month - same reason - fingerprint problems.

I had to visit the County Sheriff's offfice (which luckily is in the town were we live) , the Police Department of the town we live in, and the State Bureau of Investigation offices in the state capital, in person to get the 3 statements they said they required.

It was all quick, easy and straightforward, once we found the offices. City and County statements were free, the state one cost $15.

I wasn't aware of an option to obtain these statements on-line and as they need to be signed and officially stamped, I doubt it would be accepted for this purpose.

Get it from the police department of the town, county and state patrol of each place you lived in for the past 5 years.

Its a bit of pain, but thats what they usually accept.

Yeah guys who surf a lot often have finger printing issues. :)

Yeah, the fingerprints get damaged because of constant clicking and roller wheel rolling I should say ;) Now, on a serious note, I think some people don't have very well defined fingerprints based on age/sex and that might lead to the request for police clearances.

Good luck to all

Do we have to provide Police Report from our country?

I want to know do we need to get Police clearance report from our Native country as well as US?

ssnatu: Care to tell us which four police departments you are referring to based on your interview? Also, please let us know your subsequent experience. Thanks.
