Fingerprint notice or EAD (Work Permit) first?

Good afternoon to all,

I have applied in July '05 for my wife to get her Green Card and Work permit ( I am an US Citizen). We received a notice for fingerprints scheduled on November, 02 2005.

After reviewing the forums, I have noticed that some people received their Work permits ( EAD) before being fingerprinted. For others, the other way around.
Once being fingerprinted, how long would it take for her to get her work permit ( 1 month, few days....)?

Any feedback or input would be greatly appreciated.

biometrics or fingerprints ?

She received a notice saying that she had to have her fingerprints taken at a local BCIS office ( Glenmont, Md). Hope it clarifies things.
