Finger Printing Experience @ San Jose

Hi all,

I went to the San Jose (Story Road) office today. My experience was
excellent. I was in and out in less then 10 minutes. I reached there @
2:15pm and was the ONLY person in the office for Finger Printing. I did
see some people sitting in the waiting area, but the FP booths were
empty. As soon as a token was assigned, another lady came and took me
to the booth and took my finger prints. I was asked to moist my hands
with some moisturize before the FP. After taking the prints of all my
fingers, a supervisor came and checked my prints. She validated it and
that was it. The whole process of taking the prints took about 5
minutes. I was out of there by 2:25. The people were friendly, service
was excellent and the process was smooth. I just hope FBI/INS don\'t
reject my FPs for some other stupid reason.

My details:
      WAC 01-141-xxxxx
      RD: 03/05/01 ND: 03/27/01
      Last Name: "R"
      PD: 04/1997 (EB3/India)
FP Notice received in mail: 10/06/01
FP date scheduled on the notice: 10/31/01
      FP actually done on: 10/09/01
      Center: San Jose, CA

BTW, my wife still hasn\'t received her FP Notice. Once she receives it,
she will have to go through this process too. Hopefully that will be in
the days to come.

Thanks to all for your valuable input.

PS: Ciba, Could you please post this on your FP experience thread of
your web site.

Congratulations !

Proves that San Jose INS office does handle FP ahead of schedule.

Hi Pessimist,
Did you get your approval before your wife??. Is your wife on Dependent visa??. Did you apply together??. Thanks in advance.

IS,

Thanks!

Just a technical correction about your comment. The place
where you for your Finger Printing is called "Application
Support Center" and is different from the "San Jose INS office".

I hope people don\'t get confused.

"Application Support Center": For Finger Printing

"San Jose INS office": For passport stamping and other INS related issues.

You may ask for your wife\'s FP notice at a ASC or INS office

Hi Mitr,
Some guys posted their experience to have their FP taken at a ASC office. They said you could ask for your wife\'s FP notice when you went to a ASC office to get your FP taken. I\'m not sure you can do that. But worth a try.

Ren and other,

Should I go to the INS office or the ASC for requesting my
wife\'s FP notice. I have heard people going to INS office in
San Jose. I haven\'t heard of a single case, where you go to the
ASC and ask for your wife\'s FP Notice.

Please clarify.

OK. Here is the situation..

OK. Here is the situation: We\'ve applied together (H1/H4 visas).
I\'ve got FP notice about 8 month before my wife. No additional FP notices were received. No RFE.
Our cases have been approved at the same date.
