I have interviewed in March 09 at Fairfax, VA for citizenship. Since then I was waiting for oath letter. In between I called USCIS. They said case is approved but no oath dates. I live hours away from Fairfax. Oath cermonies are held here locally once in couple of months here.

Today I received Finger print letter instead of oath letter. I am confused.
Does anybody aware of/heard any incidents like this?
Thank you in advance.

When did you do your original FP? Either your FP have expired or the original ones were of poor quality.

Fingerprints Apr 08,
Interview Mar 09. IIO Recommended for approval and oath will be mailed.

Fingerprint letter today Sept 09

My question: While waiting for oath letter, after interview, finger prints expired, does applicant has to go for FP?

It is better if you go for fingerprint. You will get an oath letter soon. :)

An expired FP after interview can cause a delay in adjudicating your case. Speak with an IO to find out what the status of your FP is in your file to see if you really need to retake them.
