LucyMO,
you mentioned in an earlier thread that the amount of money one receiveved from his or the US government (<$2000) would play some influential role in the J1/HRR waiver process. I know that there is no 'official threshold', but I would like to know if this inofficial number would have any relevant basis.

I would thank you for your reply. Also, if anybody else would have either experience or knowledge about this issue, I would appreciate any type of response.

DOS weighs the benefits that you will bring to the US if you stay with the money that was spent on your exchange program and with the benefit you will bring to your country if you leave. Naturally, the less money was spent, the more chances you have. I had more than $15,000 spent on me.

I had a little over $1000 spend on me (by my government, $0 by the US). I am hopeful to qualify then even if I'd work then as a paperweight ...smile. Just kidding. This is very useful information, Especially because my company is a homecountry/US company, so both countries actually benefit from my humble professional contribution to the company's success in the USA.
I appreciate your response very much. Really, if I put all the pieces together I think I have a pretty good shot at a waiver.

I hope your AOS interview went well !
