Finally some news on MTR....still confused

Hi

today I finally received some news on my MTR on I-485 that was filed on 02-03-2009. I'ts been pending for over 4 months and about 10 days ago I requested expedited processing.
The letter says that I didn't submit any proof of my financial hardship but it also says that my I-485 has been reopened. However my husband's letter says "This case was approved on 02-20-2009".

Still there is no change in status online on either I290B (which shows received and pending) or I-485 which shows "Denial letter sent". Also no new LUDs.

Now, do you think I should beleive the letter I got today saying that my case was reopened or what the case status online says?

I will call to see if both of our cases got approved on 02-20-2009, or mine got approved just recently after I called them. I am surprised though that they never sent us any notice.

Also do you know if I can ask the to change the case status online on my I-485 back to pending? I want to enroll in school and i will have to prove immigrant intent in order to get qualified for in-state tuition. A pending I-485 is somethimes enough to prove immigrant intent

The school won't accept an online case status as proof of anything. But they almost surely will accept an I-485 receipt along with other proof of you actually living in the state. Look up the details on the school's web site.
