File I485 at a different state?

My sister filed parents I-130 application in chicago in March 2003. She relocated to Connecticut early this year. It's really inconvinient for my parents living alone in Chicago, I took them to Seattle, where I live. They already received I-130 approval in Aug, 2004.

I found out that both Chicago and Seattle belong to Nebraska processing center. Can they file I-485 etc here in Seattle? Would be there any problems due to changing to a different state?

I would appreciate any help!

they have to file it in Seattle -- they have to file for AOS at the office which has the jurisdiction over their present place of living. I hope you didn't forget to file AR-11 for them when they moved.

Thanks for LucyMo's quick reply.

Here is another question:

Instead of filing I485 in Chicago, would it delay the application time in Seattle? I read in another thread suggesting it'd better to keep filing 485 at the same local office.

Since my sister will also have to file I-864 (affidavit of support), if my parents file I-485 in Seattle, does it matter they are not living with my sister, who originally filed I-130?

it doesn't matter where they live and where your sister lives when it comes to the affidavit she will sign for them.

As for filing in Seattle vs. Chicago, I already explained that they have to file in the office that has jurisdiction over their place of residence.
