Family Green Card

Hi, I am trying to gather information on a Family Green Card. My dad recently moved to the USA (from the UK) after marrying his wife (she is a US citizen), he has been there for about 4 months and I was wondering what the requirements would be for me to also move out there.

I understand that I may need an i-130 form, but are there any requirements for my dad, I.E has to have stayed in the USA for a certain amount of time?

I also have another question about accommodation, I have a friend from the USA (US citizen) who has offered to find a place for us to live in. Are there any requirements for me to do this? I.E, do I have to stay in the USA with my Green Card sponsor before I can move away on my own?

Some important questions: how old are you? Has your dad filed for a green card?

He has a temporary green card which gets changed in two years, and I am 20.

You are not bound to live with your sponsor, who in this case will be your father.
