F1 to OPT or H1 visa

Hi Guys
Thanks for reading this and would appreicate any answers from you.

I have done my First masters in India and currently pursuing my second masters
degree here in US.
I am planning to apply for my OPT from August , but I wanted to apply for my H1 for this years Quota itself. First and foremost can I apply in this way. the reason is I am going to be working from Oct on H1 , at that time I would have completed my masters.

Please advice.
 
bad idea.

If you have option to get your OPT, you can work with the employer and judge them whether you can continue with them.

Same time you can apply for H1 with start date of (OPT end date), USCIS give start date at the end of OPT date. So you can utilize complete OPT before consuming your H1 time

Could you please point to a document which confirms that one can start H1B on any date later than Oct 1. I know that H1B petition form has a column for start date but my lawyer says it has to be Oct 1.
 
If it's filed on April 1, Oct 1 is only start date. If it is filed on April 2, start date could be either Oct 1 or 2. If it is filed on May 1, start date could be anytime between Oct 1 and Nov 1.
