F1 (Student Visa) and Marriage with GC Holder

If a F1(student visa) holder who is already in USA marries GC holder within USA, is it possible to transfer status from F1 to H4 or GC? Will there be any issue in doing this?

F-1 wouldn't be able to change status to H4, because it's a status of a dependent of H1.

If you marry and she wants to adjust her status to that of a permanent resident, she will be able to do it in about 4-5 years after filing I-130 or after you get your citizenship, whichever comes first.

Is there any update/change in the immigration law by which a person married to GC holder and on F1 visa, can continue to stay in US based on GC status of the spouse , after F1 visa is over ?
