F1 I-20 Visa issues

Hi, this is my first post here at the forum, and I just have a couple of questions which hope to be answered. Thank you very much in advance.

I have been going school here in the U.S. ever since 5th grade, and I have continued to stay here and going to school all the way to college. Everytime when I was transfered from one school to another, I.E. elementary to middle to high school and to college, I have always had my I-20 signed by the township administrator.

However, the problem arrived during my 2nd year in college, where the international student office staff informed me that my I-20 is invalid. So, I went to talk to them and found out that ever since my initial entry I-20 for elementary school, the Immigration office has not placed the stamp on item 1 of the I-20 form. ( i believe is the box on the top right corner of the I-20 form). But, all the past administraters have signed the I-20 application which states that all the above items ( 1~8) has been compleleted and valid. For that reason, I never knew that there was a problem with my I-20.

So basically, the international student office staff is telling me that since my I-20 was incomplete, which means I have been out of status for a long time and I will not be able to obtain a new one unless I go back to my birth country (Taiwan).

I was wondering, is there anything that I can do besides going back? I have just finished college, and was planning on going for my masters. I was thinking about the OPT option, but not sure if that would help me.

If anyone has any suggestions or helpful hints, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much in advance.

Really sorry to bother, but can anyone help me or give me any suggestions?? thank you so much in advance.

Do not go back to Taiwan immediately. Since you have completed all your schooling there is a provision - DREAM act may help you. Consult a very knowledgeble attorney before leaving US. Who is supporting you here? is there any relatives here to sponser you GC

Hi, just wanted to say thanks for replying.

I have completed my undergraduate career here, and I wanted to continue on for Masters program.

I know that there is the DREAM ACT provision being established, but its hard to say when that will pass and be able to help me.

I am being supported by my father in taiwan, I.E. he sents money here for my tuition and daily expanses.

"is there any relatives here to sponser you GC?"

I am not quite sure what you mean by that, GC?

Again thanks for the help.

I am not quite sure what you mean by that, GC? or If you are going to marry any US citizen good thing to consider now
Again thanks for the help.

Sadly, there are no relatives here that can sponsor me. And I am not considering getting married at the moment. I do however, have companies that are willing to sponsor me to get my H1 working permit. I am 23 years old btw.

Do I need to be in status when I apply for H1?
