Hi,
I need help and any answers are appreciated.
I came to the US in Jan,2001 on an F-1 Visa. I OPT started in Aug,2003(though I never worked since I didnt have a job) and expired in Aug,2004. I enrolled for another MS at a different school in Aug,2004. I didnt finish any courses in Fall,2004(failed or missed all of them). So, i enrolled for additional courses for the spring,2005 semester. I had to goto india on an urgent matter in jan,2005.
While i was leaving my school didnt stamp my new I-20 and said that they would stamp it and send it to me to India. So I left for india without an I-20.
Now, my school is telling me that since I havent finished any courses I am not technically a student, so they would send me an i-20 as a new student. My old Visa expires on Jan,2006 and my I-94 on May,2005. I have a ticket booked for 24,Apr,2005.
So, my questions are:
1)Would I have to appear at the consulate in India and get a new visa.If so what are my chances of getting a visa?
2)What are my chances of being turned back at the port of entry if
a)I came back with a new visa?
b)I come back with the visa that i already have?
I desperately need some advice. Thanks for your help in advance.
