Hi, all
Hope someone can help me.
I have an F-1 visa, got married in March, in a process of sending AOS.
Since I have done OPT (which is expired long time ago, I am back in school now), my old EAD card has A#. Is this my Alien registration number? or I will be assigned a new number with AOS?

Thanks for your help

Thank you amishah and EricNeesGC.
It cleared one of many questions.
I just put N/A then?

No. I would put down the current OPT A# in your application. Thats what I did. Then they assigned me a new number.

Good Luck

Sorry I did not see that his OPT had expired. Mine was current when I applied and hence I put it down.

In the situation of OPT having expired I would contact an immigration attorney and get their opinion. I would still tend to put the OPT A# in the application, since it gives the DHS some additional information about the applicant. Else they may think that you are hiding something. Even though the OPT has expired, I doubt that they have re-issued the A# to someone else. Either way, I would confirm with an immigration attorney.

Good Luck

My OPT was expired when I applied for 485. I put N/A for A# but turned in the expired card to the immigration officer. Although I have not received my GC yet, the immigration officer told me that my form is correct and a new number was assigned to me (I filed from DORA and therefore, interview but no GC yet).

BTW, i don't think it hurts to put the A# of your OPT on your application.

Thanks

Eric

oh, oh
What do I do now...
I think I just put N/A
If I am going to be assigned a new number, I don't see any reason to put my expired number...
I am attaching a copy of my expired EAD with I-765 application. It would show that I am not hiding anything, right?

it doesn't matter. My OPT number was assigned to AOS application, but there was a new number on the AOS EAD, when I got it.
