Expired I 94

Hi guys,
By mistake I forgot to file I539 for my wife and son and once I realized this I sent them to India and my question is if I go to an interview in India would the visa officer know that they have stayed beyond their valid stay ( I mean do they have access to the I 94 record issued at POE), sometimes the POE officer gives the I 94 well beyond the visa expiry date and it's not standard.
Pls help me guys

If they stayed beyond I 94 expiry considerable time and then left it goes in to record.

How long did they stay after I 94 expiry?
