Could anybody share the experiences of H1B/I-94 Revalidation in Canada Ottowa.

I have an appointment on Feb 7th 2007. I am an Indian having transferred my H1B Visa to a different employer and now I am going to Ottowa for stamping....

I got my Canadian Visitor's visa today by mail.

My attorney advised me to go to Canada as it is easier and quicker there when compared to India.

I changed my job 1 month ago and by the time I got to Canada I would have my 3 paystubs.

Your help and avises are really helpful to the people like me.Pls help.... and share...
Thanks

As a Canadian I would give you one piece of advice, slightly off topic. Ottawa in February will be cold!!! Bundle up when you are there :)

Hey I am staying at Econo Lodge on Rideau street which is 15 mins walk from the counsulate. 0.90 Miles something....

Hi TripleCitizen... thanks for your help and suggestions

Hi TripleCitizen... thanks for your help and suggestions
They are useful from time to time

I learnt the hard way back in 1997 during my first visit to Ottawa. Turned up for an interview at Nortel badly under dressed :)

What documents did you mail for Canadian visa?

Hi prag111,
I have an appointment on 22nd and am about to mail my
passport etc to Canadian consulate for stamping.
Had some questions in this regard, and would appreciate it very much if
you could reply.

What are all the documents you included? Specifically:
1) Hotel reservations?
2) FLight tickets?
3) Did you include I94 with passport or just a copy of I94?

Thanks,
Subaru

Original Passport, Original I-94, Copy of i-797, E-tickets of the flight reservation

I have sent the following by mail to get the Canadian Visitor'a visa by mail:

Original Passport, Original I-94,
Copy of i-797,
E-tickets of the flight reservation(Printouts of e-tickets, to and Fro)

Thanks

Prag111,
Are you sure they (Canadian consulate) do not require to see your original I-797? Someone I know sent in the copy and got a letter back requesting the original. Visa was issued in the end and the original I-797 was returned.

Hi Triple Citizen,

yes I have sent only a copy of my I-797 and I got the visitor visa in 10 days.

I am not sure why did they ask for original in the case you have mentioned.

But one thing I noticed is : they return all the documents , which they do not need , very safely with the passport.

Thanks
