Hi fellows,

I have great experiance at San Franscisco International airport. I was on two months vacation/family meeting in India. two days ago I enter USA at SFO. The officer was very nice at initial gate. He was checking my RTD (through Asylum) and he asked me "Why did you file Aslyum here in USA. Why not in Europe" I guessed it was not any official questions I just smile and said " I feel more secuired here in USA then any other place in world".

he laught at me said, Do you know domestic crime rate in US? :D

I did not think I necessarly need to answer this question, by that time he finished checking my documents and pointed me to go to Secondary Room.

I was on 4th number on line. I wait my tern which is less then 5 min. The office took my travel document with I-94 form after less then 2 min he called
my name. and asked me wheather I have been any other country then India. I said "NO" then he returned my travel documents and stamped I-94. He also added that I must need to get New Travel document before I plan any other aboard trip as my RTD is expairing soon.

Whole process took less then 20 minutes. Including both officers they took something less then 8 minutes and talked very few words.

Any falks it was very great Journey and pleasent trip to India it makes more better at POE in San Franscisco. Very Nice officers!!!!! NEPZ06

Hi!
I Am Plauning To Go India, Could You Tell Regarding The Experience Of Indian Immigration?how Can I Get Indian Visa?

Hi nepz06,

Welcome back! I am glad to hear your trip and your experience at POE was great! By the way, are you from India and is India your COP?

so... what's the big deal ????

I don't mean to be rude, but if you didn't even travel to your COP, you have nothing to worry about. I went on a cruise 2 weeks ago, visited 4 different countries, and when i got back in the States, the IO glanced my GC and stamped my passport. It felt good, but it meant nothing at the same time..

No! It was a big thing !!!!! .... Any Indian or Nepalese citizen can move/work freely in any of these two countries. People of that region do not need to carry passports to cross international border between India and Nepal.

I hope you got what I meant to say... !!

AS1997!
regarding indian immigration, there is no problem unless you don't have indian visa. All you need to do is get Indian visa from Indian consulate or Embassy. the officer in Indian POE will check your visa and match the name with your RTD. They will welcome you and may ask fews questions such as why you are there? how long you are planning to stay etc. but no problem at all. If you are Pakistani national then would be problem as India has different rules for pakistan and Bangladesh.

There are many consulate general in different city in US. go to google and seach the indian consulate general in your city or close to and visit them for visa. they normally issue the visa same day or next business day for one time entry for 90 days.

If am Indian I would never go to India. Its big problem entering US or my future status if I went to COP. considering this and most of my families are in India, I never cross the boarder.

By the way I am from Nepal.
