I have an I-140 approved [EB1(b)] June 22 (RD: Dec 29, 2008), and my I-485 just submitted few days ago, the PD is current. Could anyone please let me know from your experience an estimate how long it can take to get my I-485 approved? The processing time posted on the USCIS webpage says Sept 15, 2007. However from what I heard, quite a lot of people get it done in just few months! Or did I misunderstand something there? Is there a big difference between concurrent vs non-concurent processings?

Thanks for your prompt reply. I've just checked the link. However I'm not sure my case is the same as discussed in the link since I don't file concurently. Or you mean it's about 6-9 months after I-485 filing for both concurrent and non-concurrent filing? Many thanks!
it is the date of application of I485, either concurrent or separate, which determine the approval supposed that PD is current and obviously the I140 is approved by that time.

Time to apply for I-485 while doing J1 waiver!
I started my J1 waiver (currently in H1B status) on July 1st, 2007 and will complete waiver on June 30, 2010. My I-140 (EB-1/ outstanding researcher) was approved in June 2009. Can I apply for I-485 adjustment of stauts now? My attorney is asking me to first complete my J1 waiver and only apply for I-485 after June 2010. Please advise. I would appreciate your comment.
