It's all within the normal.
If you lookup last year around the same time (beginning of Oct 2024) we will only see things changing after Oct 21st. Go back to page 200 of this forum and start moving forward, only at page 202 (around Oct. 21/2024) we start seeing some movement.
We can also observe that last year around this time, the expectation was for people waiting for 3 1/2 years which if we apply that logic today, would put us around Mid 2021 and it seems to be accurate based on info provided by a lot of users here.
One more thing to remember is that we don't know for sure what impact (if any) the government shutdown will bring.
With all of that in mind, I believe it would be at least realistic to expect 2 things:
1 - If the government shutdown impacts our cases, let's wait for 3 weeks after the end of it to see things moving
2 - If the shutdown has no impact, it's still too early to worry about and we should not see anything until the 21st of October (reminding that the fiscal year started in Oct 1st).

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of source is that? Unless this is something new, I don't think it is correct.
Verbally approved 08/22 Chicago, IL - still pending. I am checking every day now. I also took my time in this forum, went back in pages and was following the time frames. I also would say that 3.5 years of wait in average. So I hope soon we will start return here to say our officially approved dates. Fingers crossed for all

Last year was at the 3rd. Week of October !! The wave hope will be the same this year!!
Hi that means Tha you won your case but the waiting time for a visa for the case 42b is around 3.5 to 4 years of waiting now from the date you was verbally approved. Hope it will run more quickly but in 2022 when I was verbally granted the waiting time was 1.5 to 2 years but now I still waiting and may be more than 3.5 years for me. So you have a long way to wait I think if you won from outside of jail. But if you won by getting detained by ice so you can have it in months.

Hello, just saw this post on TikTok from an immigration lawyer regarding government shut down.
Hi guys, I have an update,My lawyer send a letter to court 3 weeks ago for a Case status,Today My lawyer Received a call from judges Clerk for the response for the letter. she check the list and Saying it is very likely you will receive the visa number within the year and she said to my lawyer to follow up again January.
