Entry into US and Stamp in PP at POE

Hello,

I have been a GC holder for about 4 years. The last time I entered US from a trip to my home country, the officer stamped my passport with something that I am not able to understand. I did not notice it there but at home when I returned.

I tried attaching/inserting a bitmap/jpg etc format of the stamp, but am unable to and hence, I copied it into a word doc and attaching it.

Would be very helpful if I know what the second line in the stamp means.

Thank you sanjose.

Is it normal for the POE officer to sign the stamp? Earlier when I entered, the officers never signed. This leads me to think that perhaps it is not a signature? Perhaps it is something else?

Any thoughts?

Request other members also to please let know what you think.

Thanks much.

Thanks guys for your responses.

Yes, I know what ARC means. But I am being "paranoid" about the second line! :)

It seems to me that the second line should read "2 weeks", but it is really hard to make any sense out of it. How long have you been out of the country on your last trip?

Konig,

I think you are right. I was out for less than 2 weeks.

Now that you say it, I went over it again a few times and what you say, makes sense that it does look like "2 weeks".

I wish these Officers either stamp or write clearly instead of scribbling something that freaks us out.

I suggest that for our forum, Konig should be appointed Immigration hand writing expert! :)

I just came back from London and arrived in Chicago..The CBP officer asked me how long i was gone for ..i said 17 days , he stamped my USCIS refugee travel document ARC and wrote "17 days" next to the until part. I have never spent more than a month per year outside the USA since I got my green card in September 2007. I guess it depends on the officer..some of them just write ARC and some just write whatever they want. The funny thing is that the CBP officer asked me why did i use a refugee travel document and I only needed a green card to enter the USA. I told him " well how do i get the UK visa stamp on? I need a visa to go to England Where would the visa be stamped". Some of these officers have no clue how to handle POE procedures. I know more about this stuff than they do.
