I hold a Greecard for the past 2.5 years. We have a new and better business opportunity in overseas and want to stay for a while. Do we have to enter to US every 6-months? How long do we have to stay each time we enter? Is there a way around not entering to US every 6-monhts?

As a PR, you have to reside in the US. It is called Permanent Residence for a reason.
Any stay abroad has to be temporary in nature.
Coming to the US once in a while is not and has never been enough to keep the GC.

what if someone who has already lived in usa for 24 months after getting his green card, moves outside USA for whatever reasons but he/she keeps coming back to USA every 6 months for 2 weeks for next 2 years and then after 2 years, he/she moves back to USA permanently and then after living in USA for almost one more year applies for the citizenship? any chance for him.

(In addition, for those 2 years when he is outside, he/she does not work at all abroad and lives on his savings only, does not perform any sort of business in other country, does not buy any property abroad, pays all his taxes in USA and pays all of his credit bills through his bank accounts in USA. He/she moves abroad USA to take care of his old parents)

please advice.do you think in such a case that guy may have a slightest chance to earn usa citizenship. please guide.

My understanding is that if you travel by air, they will have a record of you coming in by stamping your passport, but will not have a record of you leaving (unless you get stamped at the country you are going to) There seems to be very little tracking in and out of US if you travel by land.

DHS gets the pasenger list from airlines travel. Secondly, most of the times POE offcers ask about duration of abroad stay. You can lie, but that can be very damaging. First of all they can have your departure record in their computer. In addition, your flight ticket, iternary, ticket receipt are the biggest evidence of your absence in USA. Even if they don't have departure info in their computer and you are able to avoid showing your ticket/iternary, but if they suspect something wrong it's matter of second to find that information from DHS. I am not saying you are bound to get caught but there is a high risk if you lie.

If you read of the the older threads in this forum and also Citizenship forum, you will get many instances of people getting into trouble.

I don’t believe anyone here is advocating the latter.

Nonsense. You are telling the Canadians that you are landing in Canada to live there permanently. You then tell the Americans that you are a permanent resident. Unless you can be in two places at the same time, you are lying to somebody.

That may have worked in the past, but nowadays they track all entries and exits, and at the least, such a pattern would result in extreme scrutiny. I would seek the help of a good immigration lawyer for anything like this.
How do they track all entries and exits?
