Entering the US with expiring H1/H4 visa - need advice.

Hi,
I'm currently working in the US with H-1B visa, which will expire on Sept 30th, 2003. My wife is holding H4, and she has left the US on June 30th for her family emergency. She'll come back on Sept. 16th, which is about 14-days left on her visa. I'm currently on the process of renewing my status (the first extension), and we'll submit her extension application as soon as she arrives. Is there a problem entering the US with her visa since her visa is almost expired (14 days left)?

If the POE inspector asks, your wife should tell that the h4 extension will be applied for as soon as she enters US. you need her I94 to do the H4 extension.
 
Will the inspecter let her in? Is there a high risk that she'll be denied? What documents she should bring with her to show the inspecter.
