I went to local USCIS in October regarding my cases. After I explained things to the officer regarding my wife in Africa, they promised to expedite my case.
At first the officer told me they can not do anything until July. Meanwhile, I ready done my home work, I told her that my wife would not be able to immigrate before September 30, 2004. She was mad at me. She said ¡°are you trying to tell me what to do¡±. I said no politely. I just played a little naive about immigration issue. I realized she had no clue about my case. I said to her if she could check with the boss would greatly appreciate it, she did. The boss was in a meeting. I told her that I would wait. I waited for about 20 minutes. She was still mad at me anytime she set eye on me. Finally, the boss reviewed my case; said I was right and that my case needed to be expedited but it has to go through FBI and CIA clearance.
They promised if by December I have not heard from them, I should contact them. I thanked her for assisting me. Meanwhile, when I was about to leave, the officer called me and gave me her name and her number to call her. I was surprise but it was all the favor of the Lord.
However, If I do not hear from them as suggested, I will go back to the local USCIS apply for interim EAD and to check the status of my FBI and CIA clearance.
