I went to local USCIS in October regarding my cases. After I explained things to the officer regarding my wife in Africa, they promised to expedite my case.
At first the officer told me they can not do anything until July. Meanwhile, I ready done my home work, I told her that my wife would not be able to immigrate before September 30, 2004. She was mad at me. She said ¡°are you trying to tell me what to do¡±. I said no politely. I just played a little naive about immigration issue. I realized she had no clue about my case. I said to her if she could check with the boss would greatly appreciate it, she did. The boss was in a meeting. I told her that I would wait. I waited for about 20 minutes. She was still mad at me anytime she set eye on me. Finally, the boss reviewed my case; said I was right and that my case needed to be expedited but it has to go through FBI and CIA clearance.

They promised if by December I have not heard from them, I should contact them. I thanked her for assisting me. Meanwhile, when I was about to leave, the officer called me and gave me her name and her number to call her. I was surprise but it was all the favor of the Lord.
However, If I do not hear from them as suggested, I will go back to the local USCIS apply for interim EAD and to check the status of my FBI and CIA clearance.

What basis did you request

Okun

Good luck, atleast someone in TSC was willing to hear and even reply back in a positive way. That is a good sign.
On what basis did you request your case to be expedited. Humatarian reason etc.? Which service center did you go to?

Thanks

The expedited case is the lottery green which I had playing for the past 10 years. I just won this year. My number became current in October.
The employment base will take another year one year according to the officer

GoodLuck

Hope you will hear positive news by December. Good to know that atleast a few INS people are willing to feel our pain.

GoodHope

Hopefully faith will get your wife across into USA. I for one is an atheist when it comes to believing nice talking USCIS officers... so should you. Sorry to burst the balloon, but what makes you think your case is getting special treatment?

“What makes you think your case is getting special treatment”
Respond:
I am not claiming that my case is receiving special treatment however by U.S. law it is the duty of USCIS to expedite every approved lottery green due to the limited time for DV cases.
Under the terms of Section 245 of the INA, selected applicants who are physically present in the United States may apply to the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS) for adjustment of status to permanent resident. Applicants must ensure that BCIS can complete action on their cases, including processing of any overseas derivatives, before September 30, 2004, since on that date registrations for the DV-2004 program expire.
