Does it actually involve working in India? Working for a foreign company in a foreign county would break your continuous residency requirement.

Sounds like a case of lying by omission, and definitely not a good strategy. Lying to obtain an immigration benefit could result in not only denial of your N-400 application, but revocation of your LPR status.

Of course, there would also be the question of whether you'd be declaring income and paying US taxes on those rupees...

Simple answer, Deportation...

Why are you hiding this new development? There is nothing wrong if you work for a foreign firm and getting paid in Indian Rupees, Swiss Francs or Japanese Yen. It makes no difference to USCIS and your N-400. As long as you fulfill your residency requirments, you will be ok. So please do not present fabricated documents. Just update you N-400 with the correct employment information.

Does he have to pay the taxes here? If he pays then like you said, I don't see any problem.

Triple citizen,

If u don't mind, is that correct answer? can u please elobarate or justify ur answer little bit?
So, person can work from USA to indian comapany or any other country related company, that is what my understanding. Only continuous residence
is requirement for USCIS, right?
There is a chance to IO or USCIS immediately get a feeling like person gonna leave country immediately after become citizenship. looks like that is not against to USCIS or citizenship requirement rules...thanx..

I always wondered if Indian companies or Indian consultancies in US pay equivalent salaries that are competitive with US salaries are are they taking advantage of Indian workers by paying them much less than their US counter parts.

Green card holders have to pay US taxes on worldwide income (although some or all of the taxation can usually be offset via tax treaties and foreign tax credits and exemptions).

My mother naturalised a few years ago without ever working during her 5 years. That proves that USCIS does not care whether you work or not, for an N-400 case adjudication. Nor do they care whom you work for. They want you to fulfill residency requirements and avoid CMT. That is it.
