The point is that it is another Delay like the back ground check.
If they have not been able to check that in the last 2 odd years what is the gaurantee they will be able to do it in the next 2 or 3 years.

I already told you that it is my employment verification nothing to do with my employer.
But anways it doesnt look to be a common practice so maybe I am an isolated case.
In India when somebody applies for fresh H1 they check for "Reliving Letter" from past employers[listed in resume] to make sure that somebody dosent claim false experience.Al_aos said:Anyone ever heard of that being done on your case...........

------------- It may be done by US consulate in Chennai because in past many got H1 with fake exp letters and used fake degree certificates. Now US consulate in Chennai has document fraud detection unit.
