My Current Situation:
My Priority date on I140 from my current employer is 7/5/2018 and I have a new job offer from a different employer. New employer has a policy to file my GC (new PERM and newI140 ) after 1 year from joining date. Suppose I join the new company in May 2022 they will start my Green card process in May 2023

I want to know the risk in changing the job at this time considering my priority date of I140 with my current employer is 7/5/2018 and also taking into consideration the speed with which GC backlog is being cleared.
If I join the new employer and my priority date becomes current and the new employer has not started the PERM / I140 process by that time then what options do I have?
