Employer bounded by Job Offer Letter?

If an employer gives you an offer letter for you to take to Embassy, does the employer bounded to provide you the job when you land in the US? I know nothing is guaranteed, but would US Immigration service take any legal action against the employer because of employer failed to honor employment? What happens to the person who was offered the letter but was denied due some circumstances like economic conditions? Can this person go on public funds?

I don't think so. The employer has the freedom to hire or not to hire the person. The U.S Immigration has no control over it. Plus, the DV visa / green card is not bound to a job or an employer, unlike the work visa (H1B).

Gerindo, you had your POE at lax.Did you go to JFK before connected to LAX for your Stamp? I am going to Columbus Ohia but through JFK. I want to know where I will do my POE

I didn't go through JFK. My flight was from Hong Kong to LAX.

You will have your POE at JFK. POE will always be the first airport you land in the U.S regardless of the final destination.

Couple of years ago I had a flight from Taiwan to JFK. The airplane had a stop over in Anchorage, Alaska for refueling. The POE for that flight was in Anchorage, and not in JFK.

I'm not a legal expert, but I'm pretty sure no employer can't ever be held responsible for not choosing to hire you before you signed a contract where they explicitly agree to do so.

^^ Unfortunately signed contract means nothing, at least on my case. I was offered a full time position back in October to start in November.
I signed everything however a week before I was due to start there, the company called my recruiter (I got the job through the recruiter) that due to recession and budget cuts, they have to eliminate and retract the offer.
So there you go, I lost the job before I even started regardless the signed contract.
