Any one who has applied for a emergency tourist visa can you please let me know what is the procedure to apply?

I applied for OCI/RENUN and waiting on it.
I have a travel date coming up (Dec-02-2013).

I think I can use my RENUN receipt number for the emergency tourist visa.
This is what I understand from the CGI SFO/BLS website

01. BLS order form (But it is asking me to take appointment..any thoughts on this)

02.Complete the Online Application Form (IVFRT) before visiting the Indian visa application centre.
- Print and sign the Application form.
- Paste the photograph as per the specification.

03.Attach all the supporting documents with the application form.
- Copy of US Passport
- Copy of drivers license
(Any thing else to be attached?)

The CGI SFO website says as given under
Visa applicants holding US passports (only those born in USA or with Indian origin are eligible) can apply for EMERGENCY VISAS at the BLS Visa Application Centre located at 4239 Geary Blvd., San Francisco, CA 94118.

These Emergency Visa applications (for any type of Visa, provided they are accompanied by adequate / necessary documents and mandatory fees) shall be accepted even without an appointment, on a WALK-IN basis and are normally issued within the end of the same working day (if applied before 1100 hours).
Emergency Visa applications submitted between 1100-1400 hours are processed for the next day delivery.

Indian origin Visa applicants applying for Renunciation of Indian Citizenship Certificate simultaneously
along with Visa application requests are not eligible for Emergency Visas.

Please let me know if I am missing any thing.

Thank you all in advance.

I come up with the following list for emergency visa application. I may apply as well. It looks like you can go directly to the CGI and apply for the emergency visa.
1) Online Visa application forum filled in and signed
2) Visa order form
3) a copy of Renunciation Certificate / Surrender Certificate (since we do not have this we can include the copy of visa renunciation order form and a copy of OCI application form. Also a print out of the OCI inquiry status page showing the details like US passport number, online Registration Number, File Acknowledgment Number, Date Of Acknowledgment and Registration Status at Mission ).
4) copy of Naturalization certificate
5) A copy of Driver’s License
6) One Photograph
7) An utility bill showing the proof of address
8) If there is any name change, copy of court order for that
9) Proof emergency such as medical certificate or court order
10) A confirmed printed flight ticket
11) A copy of the Indian passport as in some consulates like Newyork they are asking for it.
12) Cashier’s check for 104.70 as visa fee
13) Original US passport

thank you "great_ideas"

I will be going to SFO/BLS office for emergency visa.

Which place are going?
If you are also going to SFO/BLS office then we can plan to go together.
Let me know your thoughts on this.

9) Proof emergency such as medical certificate or court order
Not sure how to get this...I don't have one. Will this be a show stopper?

10) A confirmed printed flight ticket
I have taken a print out of my online air ticket and my travel date is in december 2013.

12) Cashier’s check for 104.70 as visa fee
Will it be ok if I pay cash.
I paid cash for my OCI/RENUN fees.

My consulate is the Washington DC one. I do not think Medical certificate or court order is a show stopper as your OCI card is pending. Check out the fodors.com site about bls. It has some post about emergency visa. Thanks.

They're going to be hard to convince without the proof. My mom needed a visa immediately when there was a death in the family, and her OCI application was at the consulate. We waited there on Saturday morning and had to, first of all, beg them to understand that it had just happened and that there was no certificate yet, and second, to get the damned thing out of the OCI processing file. It took about 3-4 hours of loafing around there.

On Nov-19-2013 I submitted/applied for a tourist visa @ BLS/SFO.
The receipt says 3 to 5 business days.
Also they asked me if I need to get my VISA the same day (emergency visa).
If so then I need to pay like $100 extra.
But I told that I can wait for 3 to 5 days.

Ok my tourist visa application status on the BLS website has changed (on Nov-21-2013) and it says as given under

Current Aplication Status : Your Application has been received from the Consulate General of India and is ready for collection. Kindly note an Authority Letter is required if a Third Party is authorized for Collection.
Kindly note the passport collection timing is 4 to 6

Still not sure until I collect my passport from BLS SFO office.

My OCI status on GOI website still shows "UNDER PROCESS".
I will go tomorrow to collect my US Passport.
