...the online status says the case is still pending. it says that finger print results were recd. and processing has resumed.

a lady at the emergency number said earlier this month that the case was approved on mar 25th.

i havent recd. approval letters also. has anyone faced a similar issue in the past.

both my wife and i checked and they said approved. these days they are not entertaining us on the emergency # unless it is an emergency.

can someone share their experience.

how can i enquire my status?

thanks.

Ask your attorney to call the emergency # immediately.

USCIS will entertain calls from Attorneys because the emergency # is meant for attorneys to call USCIS in case of any emergency.

cal gc,
I think ur case is approved and you should be getting the approval notices in mail soon. Congratulations.

case transfered

Hi ,
why your case has been transfered to VSC ? Have you changed your ResAddress/Job location or your company location has been changed?

Thanks

my attorney is a jack ass and won't call the #...is there any other way???

My attorney also does not want to call the emergency #. I have tried calling a number of times but could not get any information. Is there any tag line I could use to get any information.

Keep calling everyday. Eventually you will find sb who is willing to give you some information. I called twice a couple weeks ago in as many days and finally found out our cases are pending on name check. and try to call at different time in bid to meet different officers.

I called up emergency number again today. Got a nice person to talk to. He took my A#, WAC #etc. and also varified thru soc sec number and DOB, which is new as earlier I was never asked for DOB, SOC Sec number etc.

Anyway, same old story. Name check is pending. The only thing he told me additionally was that the case was fine and was "flagged for approval pending name check". May be that is status they have got in the file.

He had the record that I had called up 3 weeks back. He actually told me to call again in about 30 days if case was not approved by that time. I asked him how would that help if name check would be pending. He told me that at time, the name check comes in but the case somehow is not taken up. The call will ensure that if the name check was clear, case was pushed for approval.

So, I will make next call later next month if I do not get good news by that time.

You're very lucky with getting people to talk to you. I haven't had ANY luck whatsoever. I've had the worst luck. I gave up on this emergency #. You must really charm them somehow. Anyway, good luck -- hope you'll hear something new soon.

How long is you name check pending? in other words, Did you know when the your name check was initiated, right after ND, or triggered by FP?

It is harder for them to disclose I-140 information to beneficiary. You need to have your employer call. But it is still depending on which officer you talk to.

Logic given to me - My I40 was filed at CSC since company is based in CA. My 485 was filed in VSC since I was in NJ that time. My I40 cd have been transferred to VSC for concurrent adjucation.

found a descent soul on the number finally. but he has got me totally confused. now this person took all info. like ssn, dob, address. he also took all my phone numbers and said he is gonna pull the file and take a look and call me back when he has more info. what he is saying is that the case is approved (looks like) but the process is that when case gets approved the approval letter is sent to an officer for approval and that officer hasn't done his bit (of approving and posting the letter).

this is what he feels but he is not certain if that is the only trouble. he will check and call says he. i wil call again in a couple of days. he even gave his direct access # which was very good of him and the number is legit. no i can't share the number because he said not to share - sorry.

they will not discuss 140 application since it is employers application your lawyer or company HR can only talk about that...but then most lawyers that people have here are stupid and so won't talk...

You are right. Last time when I called up, the officer checked the case and said everything was fine and took my tel number etc. and told me that I would get a call if there was any issue with the case, else just wait and it would come thru soon. I was told FBI check was clear.

As I did not get any call, I assumed everything was fine. When I called today, it was same status except that case was flagged for approval pending name check.

I feel, different offficer conclude the same info in different way and tell accordingly.

What matter at the end is, when we get GC approved. That is where the luck is eluding so far.

Finally it is over...
My online status is now approved. I have got my card and my wife's is in the mail.
So here is what happened and I think there could be more in this situation.
The person at USCIS and now a good friend told me that due to a “computer glitch" there was a problem when the card and approval were sent for printing. He had to go to the computer room and take care of the issue. He also mentioned that since there was no record of the problem happening, if I hadn’t called they would never have tracked it down. He said it is called falling through the cracks.

I am not signing off from this forum though...I will continue to hang around here...to see if things are getting better or if anyone needs any help.

thanks,

Congrats, ...you have finally finished the journey.

Can you post your details - EB2/EB3, ND etc, any RFE's ??
