Eligibility Criteria

If you are an asylee, you may apply for a green card 1 year after being granted asylum if you:

1.Have been physically present in the United States for at least 1 year after being granted asylum
2. Continue to meet the definition of a asylee (or continue to be the spouse or child of such asylee)
3. Have not abandoned your asylee status
4. Are not firmly resettled in any foreign country
5. Continue to be admissible to the United States (A waiver may be available to you if you are now inadmissible)

I had a lawyer file for me, but as far as I know, the answer is no, you don't need to show proof of fear of persecution when applying for a green card. I believe #2 refers to abiding by the asylee rules.

thanks 2nd chances, can anybody else know for sure, I need one more conformation to satisfy my heart.
how much it cost for lawyer 2nd chances for filing green card?

I used free Legal Aid services. Trying looking them up in your area and reaching out to them.

You are just making a mountain out of a mole hill. Just go through each of the criteria and see if it applies to you.
