Hello All,

I have some questions regarding my Green Card Process.

Basically I have completed:

B.Sc Geology - 3 years
M.Sc Applied Geology - 2 years
M.Tech Remote Sensing - 2 years

These degress are not related to IT field.

I have been in US since Feb 2008. In 2008, I have worked just 4 months. Since I have 2 master degree, Can i go with EB2 or EB3 category for my GreenCard process?

To be clear I was not working in IT related field before Nov 2008 and right now working in IT related project since Nov 2008.

When I ask my employer to do my GC process with EB2 category. They said, I don't have experience in IT field for past 5 years and trying to do in EB3 category. Many of my friends saying to do in EB2 category since I have 2 master's.

What should i opt for? I really don't need to face any queries in the future to make my GC process delayed. Can any one give me the very correct answer for this.. It will be really appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

Having two Master Degrees or PhD does not mean that you automatically qualify for EB2. it depends on employer or LC. Most of the employer will file in EB3 only. For EB2 Employer has to write more wages than EB3 and many employer will give you logic that approval of Eb3 is easy and EB2 is difficult. You cant do anything if employer only agrees to file in EB3. LC, I-140 are employer petitions.

"Which job requirements? I don't understand much..."

Let's say you are applying for a JOB A with Company X. The requirement says M.Sc Applied Geology + 2 years of experience. If you qualify and get the job and the company is willing to sponsor GC, they might be able to file it under EB2. So when you applied for the job, read that job description carefully.

------- LC / I-140, GC is for Future job don't mix it with present job or the person took H1 job. advertising for GC or LC is done by employer (Employer Lawyer) and in that LC advertising the employer write the Skills, Title of Job and required Education.
