hi,
Can we apply EAD on our own without lawyers help.Are there any extra documents/procedures to be taken care other than just filling up the form and submitting the proof of 485 filing?

Yes. I765, 2 photos, I485 receipt copy, Check for $120. Find the PO box from the relevant service center's web site link in INS website.

Do I need a signature card from the local INS office, along with other documents for filing EAD at CSC?
