EAD without FP?

Hey folks,
I filed on August 12th and I'm in Dallas DO .So far I have not heard anything on the fingerprints yet.I understand this depends on how busy the DO is. I'm close to the 70day mark .

Per USCIS website ,it is taking an estimated 11 weeks to process the applications. I'm close to that estimation and I was wondering if anyone had received the EAD cards WITHOUT FP?

A friend of mine who filed employement based AOS has received his EAD without FP but is this true for family based applications also or is it different set of rules for us?

Thanks!

EAD needs a single index finger print only. No connection to the complete fingerprints needed for N-400/I-485 applications.

still confused

So you need some fingerprint to be completed before the EAD may be received?
I'm on H-1B currently and have given FP for immigration services while leaving and entering the country. I'm not even sure if those are relevant here.

When I got my EAD back in 2003, I had to submit an index print before it was issued. The prints taken at the airport are for a different reason altogether.

Umm. thanks for the info.
Was ur FP submitted ahead of time or day of EAD?
I'm just trying to determine if my EAD will be delayed because my DO is too busy to schedule my biometrics appointment.

Back then Boston DO used to issue EADs the day you applied for it. The laminated EAD for given to you 5 minutes after your index print was taken.

Ah nice:).Well, lets see how it goes.I found some cases who received EAD as long as they submitted a photograph along with the application. Apparently they just get a notice on the EAD indicating no FP on file.
I'm hoping to fall into that bucket...

My last paper based EAD application did not require/have fingerprints. I did electronic application for my renewal and had to go for biometrics.

Interesting...u wud think the mode of applying wudn't matter. I sent in a paper application so lets see how it plays out.

In my experiance no FP for EAD

My wife had her EAD with out FP (F1 OPT). It is new electronic card under finger print it just says not available. Second time when she got ead for i-485 she has to go for FP for i-485 they took fp for new ead too.

Thanks and yes I never had to do any FP for my OPT either.
I was referring to the EAD filed based on a 485 petition.
