Has anybody filed their EAD first time application or renewal through Texas Service Center? If so, please share notices and approval dates.

Hi Fatima,

My wife and I filed through the Texas Service Center and my experience is summarized in my signature below. I think our processing took much much longer than the norm for some reason. So if I were you, I wouldn't use our own experience as the normal example.

I e-filed mine(first time) on Jan 19.
It was approved yesterday Feb 28.
It took 40 days, but as TSCEB2Current says do not take a particular one as a trend.
 
TSC is way faster then NSC for sure, if you go to Trackitt.com you can see the trend, most of EAD in TSC get approved in 2-4 weeks compared to 2 or 3 months in NSC.

Mine got to TSC on the 2/07/07, still no news or LUD' s or updates. The funny thing is that my AP got approved in 15 days. Crazy TSC!

Mine was also filed on Jan 19. My case is still pending. Did you get an appointment for FP? Did you see the approval on the USCIS website?

One more question. Did they use the pictures you sent them? Did they send you another notice for you to go and have your pictures taken again?

I did not send any pictures. I e-filed.

I got the FP notice about 10 days after filing.
If you paper-filed, you should have sent the pictures. You will not be scheduled for FP.

I e-filed my first EAD to Texas SC on February 28.

As soon as I get something I will let you know.

Fatimahope,

everytime you efile your EAD, you have to go for FP. Your FP from previous renewal don't get carried over to your current renewal. you should get an appt in the mail for your biometrics.

I also mailed my EAD/AP/I485 application to TSC and was received in Jan 28. Still no news for my EAD. I have done the FP and have received the Advance Parole.

EAD filed on 2/7/07 at TSC

Folks,

I have paper filed my 3rd EAD renewal pending AOS. The RD is 2/9. I haven't seen an LUD. My current one expires on 4/25. I am thinking what I should do if we get too close to the expiration of the current EAD. Keep me posted in any case how your case progresses at TSC.

Thanks minn_labor! That is a concern I have. It has been 46 days since my attorney filed it and I have not receive additional information other than the initial notice with RD of 01/19/07. The receipt notice says:

" If this receipt is for an I-485 or I-698 application USCIS will schedule your biometrics appointment. "

Should I interpret this as they won't be scheduling me for FP?

Are you sure your 765 was efiled and no paper filed?
If its paper filed then you don't have to worry about biometrics, however, you will have to send in photos. To be on a safer side why don't you call customer service and talk to them. i don't know the details of your case so I can't provide you much assistance.
 
No, I am not sure that it was e-filed. I will contact my attorney again, they did for me. They stated the first time I asked that it was e-filed. Thanks!
 
EAD is still pending

I filed my papar based EAD along with 485 on Dec.6 RD is Dec.11 2006
I've not yet recieved yet.I-140 is approved within a 50 days.
AP approved in 2 weeks. But no EAD yet. Any idea what could be the reason?

Same way here AP approved in 15 days no EAD yet, I havent seen any EAD approvals form TSC in Trackitt.com in the last 2 weeks, maybe they are taking their time, people were getting there EAD approved in less then 3 weeks in Oct and Nov of 2006, i wonder whats going on..

I talked to my attorney, they paper filed the application. They stated they may not schedule me for FP because it has been less than a year since I was scheduled for FP and that I may get my approval notice soon.

What type of information can customer service provide me with? If I am not supposed to be scheduled for FP, and they research my case and change their minds, that could delay the process even more.

Any thoughts?

Hello Fatima,

Like I said that I don't know much about your case so can't give you details. However, since you paper filed EAD you don't have to worry about biometrics but make sure that you have sent two photos or else you could get an RFE. The customer service rep doesn't have access to your actual file. They can provide basic generic information depending on what questions you ask. I don't think calling the customer service rep would result in a delay of your case. Goodluck and keep us posted.
