EAD returned undeliverable

I am on an F-1 visa and applied for OPT. The application was received by USCIS (Nebraska) on May 4. I had asked for expedited processing with a job offer letter.

However, I had not received the receipt. I assumed that they would simply send the EAD card fast. When I called them on May 22, I was told that it had been approved on May 18, and that I should receive it shortly.

Having not received it till now, I called USCIS again and was told that the letter was returned. Then I found out that the student adviser, who had filled my application, put an incorrect zip code.

Anyone been in that situation? How much time would it take for them to resend it, and is there anything I could do to get it fast? I have a very nice internship offer and I don't want to lose it :(

Thanks!

did you correct the address? did they destroy a card? if yes and no, then it should be fast. I think you need to accept the offer.

LucyMo, thanks for your reply. I did correct the address. They have not received the returned card yet, I am hoping they will soon.

Don't want to scare you but I was in a similar situation....had a great job, I-765 approved and sent, but it got lost in the mail....So I had to re-apply to get my EAD and got if after 3 months....

Luckily my employer accepted the approval notice and used that for my I-9 form, try asking your employer if that's OK....

Ouch, it turns out that the I-797 Approval Notice was returned undeliverable to USCIS, but the EAD card was not!! This is despite the fact that they were sent on the same day.

How is that possible now. Any ideas about what I should do? Wait for them to receive it as undelivered, or apply for a new one?

I did not receive the approval notice either: is there any information in it that the employer needs to use, lie a number or something? Can I get this information some other way?

Thanks!
