Hi,
I have applied from my EAD Renewal last week of Aug'02 and I did receive the reciept.My current EAD expires on Oct22nd'02. As I am running close to expiration date I was wondering If I can get an Interim EAD if I don't recieve it by Oct 15th.If I can get an interim EAD what do I need to do and where do I need to go to get the Interim EAD

District office

Any nearest District office (see INS website for field offices) can issue an interim EAD if it had been 90 days from the EAD receipt date.
You will know whether NY office will give you an interim EAD or not only if you go and find out. Need I485 receipt and EAD receipt.
 
Interim EAD before 90 days ?

My strong belief is that Vermont9 will get his/her EAD much before Oct 15th.

What if we assume that he/she hasn't received EAD by 21st, what should we do since the duration has not passed 90 days? Anyother workarounds for getting Interim EAD or is it enough as an authorization to work if we have the Receipt for EAD?

I hope Vermont9 already got his/her EAD by now! And above question from me is for myself?

Thanks for replying to my post.I did speak to IIO and she said that I should get my EAD by OCT 15th as the case has been assigned to an officer.It is delayed as the this whole week all of the people are working on INS AUDIT.
And w.r.t my green card as my ND is Oct12th 2001 she sadi I should hear some time in NOV'02 as delays caused by INS audit and currently they are processing SEP 12th

I am also in the same boat as Vermont9.EAD expiring on Oct 15th,2002.Renewal application receipt date Aug 8th and Notice date sep 8th.Talked with IIO and told about the audit and he said that the site will be update sometime On Monday Oct 7th and probably in 2 weeks time it will get approved.

I did talk to IIO yesterday and I asked if I need to apply for interim EAD and she said it is not required.Gald that ur EAD got approved, can you post the date you had applied for EAD and ur reciept date
