My existing EAD is about to expire and I have not got
the new one yet. I had applied less than 90 days
before expiry.
What can I do to get a new EAD before the new one
expires?
 
There are a number of posts explaining you how to apply for EAD extension.... search for them in the portal by EAD extension keyword
 
Question!

I went through those posts but still my question is not answered.

I did not apply before 90 days of the current one's expiry and have not been approved the new one. I had applied only 80 days away! What are my options in that case?
 
1 You should have applied EAD renewal 5-6 months advance to be eligible for iEAD after 90 days of filing EAD
2 You can only go for iEAD if 90 days have passed from RD of EAD renewal filing
3 You need valid EAD or valid H1 to work
4 If no valid EAD in hand talk to your employer HR they may be able to pay you when you have valid EAD in hand or take leave for 10-15 days till you get iEAD from local USCIS office
 
I do have an H1B that is valid till 2005...would that work unti lI get my new EAD?

I entered the country on I-131 Travel Document and told them that I was working on my EAD (not H1B anymore)
 
Strictly speaking, since you have told the IIO at the POE that you are working on your EAD, you should have an EAD to continue working.

What is being used for your employment eligibility in the I-9? EAD or H1-B??

H1B void after EAD

Your H1B is void now. It is absolutely useless.- since you have used your EAD to work. If you want to work on an H1B, you will have to apply for a new one after April and ur application will be subject to the reduced quota.
