EAD renewal Rejected - Help needed

Hi Guys,
I have applied for my EAD renewal on December 17th 2003 and my EAD was expiring on April 2nd 2004. The application was received on Decemeber 22nd at the Vermont INS. Unfortunatly my application got rejected today,as I forgot to fill in ssome info
in the block 16 of the appication. I was wondering if I fill in this info and send it to INS Vermont. Would I still be having the same receipt date of 22nd December 2003. I would appreciate if any one can throw some light on this issue. i was really worried about the EAD receipt date and this tragedy took place.

Sorry to see this, but I think you could E-file today and still meet your deadline.

Q16 was one of the MOST Important :
Go to Part 2 of the Instructions, Eligibility Categories. In the space
below, place the letter and number of the category you selected from the
instructions (For example, (a)(8), (c)(17)(iii), etc.).
Eligibility under 8 CFR 274a.12


Also the E-File form checks for "MANDATORY" fields and does not allow the application to be submitted if the fields are blank.

But what I was wondering is if I would be getting a new
receipt date or the one that of the date stamp I have on the application.( dec 22nd 2003) when I initially submitted the application for renewal in December 2003.
 
I would send new EAD application becase it is not USCIS mistake and they rejected. Better file new EAD application with correct information, documents and new fees
