Hi:

My I-140 has been approved and my I-485 has been pending since 6 months. I am thinking of using my EAD.

Some people told me that when you enter US and if you are on AP, they will ask you to go to a seperate counter and ask questions to you.

1. Now, if I am using my EAD and enter US on AP, they might ask me that who has filed for your GC and if I tell them that I am no longer with that company, will it cause a problem at the airport?

2. Do I run into any risks of entering US if I am using my EAD and am no longer with that company which filed for my I-140 and I-485?

Thank you very much...

As I understand it, they can pick any person with or without AP to ask him question because of security issues. It has nothing to do with your green card application, for sure they may ask you questions about your green card or so.

My bigger concern is:

1. Will it cause any problems if I am using my EAD and am no longer working for the company which filed for my I-140 and I-485?

In the world of immigration every thing is possible. The immigration officer can deny the re admission of any one even with green card, it depends on luck. But usually changing the employer to another one in the same field and you did the legal aspect with immigration regarding this transfer, then almost no problem in re admission to great extent.

USCIS allows you to change employers after 6 months of filing 485. You should be legally fine.
